Starting in Tarangire National Park, you’ll experience vast elephant herds and classic baobab landscapes before traveling through the scenic highlands to the legendary plains of Serengeti National Park.
The safari combines comfortable midrange and luxury-style lodges with rewarding game drives, including a half-day in the Serengeti and a full exploration of the wildlife rich Ngorongoro Crater. Safari Highlight
Day 1: Tarangire National Park – Ngorongoro Highlands
You will be picked up from your hotel in Arusha at 8:00 am and meet your professional safari guide. The drive to Tarangire National Park takes approximately 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Tarangire is famous for its vast elephant herds, ancient baobab trees, and diverse landscapes. Enjoy an extensive morning game drive, with excellent chances to spot elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, wildebeest, and a variety of birdlife.
At around midday, you will stop at a scenic picnic site inside the park for a hot lunch, overlooking the Tarangire River where wildlife frequently gathers.
After lunch, continue with a final afternoon game drive. You will exit the park at around 4:00 pm and begin your drive to the accommodation. Upon arrival, check in at Marera Mountain View Lodge, where you will enjoy dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Ngorongoro Highlands – Serengeti National Park
After breakfast, depart for Serengeti National Park, traveling through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The drive takes approximately 4 to 5 hours, passing through rolling highlands and Maasai landscapes.
If the weather permits, you will stop briefly at a viewpoint near the crater rim for panoramic views before continuing toward the Serengeti plains.
Upon arrival, you will have a hot lunch before starting an afternoon game drive in the central Serengeti. This region is renowned for its high concentration of wildlife, including lions, leopards, cheetahs, elephants, and large herds of grazers.
In the evening, proceed to Signature Serengeti Luxury Camp for dinner and an overnight stay under the African sky.
Day 3: Serengeti National Park – Ngorongoro Highlands
Begin your day with a relaxed morning game drive in the Serengeti, making the most of the cooler hours when predators are most active.
Late morning, return to the lodge for breakfast/brunch, followed by a half-day game drive as you gradually make your way toward the park exit. Enjoy your final wildlife encounters in the Serengeti before departing in the early afternoon.
You will then drive back toward the Ngorongoro Highlands, arriving later in the afternoon. Check in at Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, beautifully set on the crater rim, offering spectacular views.
Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay at the lodge.
Day 4: Ngorongoro Crater – Arusha
After an early breakfast, descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a 5–6 hour game drive with a packed breakfast.
The crater is one of Africa’s most remarkable wildlife areas and is home to a dense population of animals, including lions, elephants, buffalo, hippos, flamingos, and the rare black rhino. The crater floor spans about 260 square kilometres, offering incredible game viewing in a compact area.
After completing the game drive, ascend from the crater and stop for a hot lunch before beginning your journey back to Arusha.
You will arrive in Arusha between 5:00 and 6:00 pm, with drop-off available at your hotel or Kilimanjaro International Airport, marking the end of your unforgettable midrange lodge safari.
